教学目标:

本课程作为专业基础课,在大学一年级的第一个学期开设,主要介绍物理学中力学和热学的基本概念,原理,规律及分析解决问题的方法。

 

教学要求:

要求学生掌握牛顿三大定律的内容及适用范围,能量守衡原理和动量守衡原理的意义,并且会应用牛顿定律及能量和动量守衡原理分析解决实际问题;要求学生掌握热力学第一,第二定律的内容及意义。

 

教学内容:

质点运动学,质点动力学(牛顿三大定律),功和能量,能量守衡原理,动量,冲量及动量守衡,刚体运动学,刚体动力学,周期运动,温度和热量,分子动理论,热力学第一,第二定律。

 

成绩评定方式:

评定:学期总评成绩(100%)

重评:补考卷面成绩(100%)

成绩评定要求出勤率

College Physics I

Credits: 4 Credits

Pre-requisite: Real Analysis & the Calculus; Vectors, Geometry & Linear Algebra


Ojectives:

As the special basic course, it is opened in the first term of the first year in University. The main contents include mechanics and thermodynamics, especially, the basic concepts, principles, laws and the methods for analyzing and solving the practical problems will be introduced.

 

Requirements:

Students are required to master the Newton’s Laws, the principles of conservation of energy and momentum; they should be able to work out some mechanical problems in real world by what they learn. Students needed to known well about the first and the second laws of thermodynamics, including the contents and meanings.

 

Contents:

Kinematics of particles; Newton’s Laws; conservation of energy and momentum; rotation of rigid bodies; foundation of thermodynamics; kinetic-molecular theory of an ideal gas.

 

Methods of Summative Assessment:

Assessment: Assessments done during semester (100%)

Reassessment: best of 3 hour resit examination (100%)

Attendance at tutorials is a required element of this module.
