课程简介:

本课程是经济与工商专业本科生的必修课,旨在新古典框架内教授微观经济学的基本概念和原理,主要包括:市场交易的好处、供给、需求与供需曲线模型、市场均衡的比较静态分析、效率与社会福利的无谓损失、外部性、公共产品与公共资源、成本与利润最大化、竞争、垄断、寡头与垄断竞争、竞争性均衡工资、偏好/无差异曲线、预算约束与消费者选择、不对称信息、道德风险与逆向选择。

 

课程目标:

本课程期望学生能够基本理解上述微观经济学的基础概念和原理,为进一步学习更加高级的经济学奠定基础;并能够初步应用这些概念和原理分析人类社会的某些行为。

Introduction to Microeconomics

Module Description:

This is a compulsory course for majors of economics or business. This course is intended to teach the basic concepts and principles in Microeconomics within the neoclassical framework, such as gains from trade, supply, demand and the Marshallian Cross diagram model, comparative static analysis of equilibrium or market clearing, efficiency and deadweight loss of social welfare, externalities, public goods and common resources, various costs and profit maximization, perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly and monopolistic competition, equilibrium wage in a perfectly competitive market, preference/indifference curve, budget constraint and consumer’s choice, asymmetric information, moral hazard and adverse selection.  

 

Learning Outcome and Objectives:

Students are expected to have some basic understanding of the most essential economic concepts and principles, forming a foundation for further study of more advanced economics. After studying this course, students should also be able to apply the concepts and principles to the analysis of some human behavior in reality.
