课程简介:
国际经济学介绍和讨论国际贸易领域的基本理论和政策,国际金融领域的基本理论和实践。该课程要求学生具备经济学和数学的基础知识,并能够运用经济学和数学的工具来分析国际贸易和金融领域的问题。
在国际贸易部分,该课程主要介绍国际贸易的理论和政策。包括古典贸易思想和理论、新古典贸易理论及其延伸和应用、当代贸易理论、经济增长和国际贸易、关税、非关税贸易壁垒、经济一体化和贸易政策的福利效应。
在国际金融部分,该课程主要介绍外汇的基础知识和国际收支平衡,国际货币制度的历史和发展,国际收支平衡和汇率,开放经济体中的经济均衡、经济政策及其对实际国际国民收入的影响。
课程将结合具体的案例以揭示实践背后的逻辑和原则。案例分析将帮助学生们掌握和关注理论与实际问题之间的联系。

International Economics

Pre-requisite: Microeconomics; Macroeconomics; Advanced Mathematics (including the Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability & Statistics); Money and Banking
Module Description:
International Economics introduces and discusses the basic international trade theories and policies, as well as the basic international finance theories and practices. The course requires the students having the basic knowledge in economics and mathematics, and being able to use the tools in economics and mathematics to analyze the problems in international trade and finance area.
In the part of international trade, the course mainly introduces the theories and policies of international trade. It includes classical trade ideas and theories, Neoclassical trade theory and the expansion and application of Neoclassical trade theory model, modern trade theory, economic growth and international trade, tariff, non-tariff trade barriers, economic integration and the welfare effects of trade policies.
In the part of international finance, the course mainly introduces fundamentals on foreign exchange and balance of payments, the history and development of international monetary system, balance of payments and exchange rate, economic equilibrium for an open economy, economic policies in an open economy and its impacts on real national income.
Concrete cases are be used to reveal the logic and principle behind practice. Case studies will help the students to understand and focus on the connection between theories and practical issues.

Øunderstand the causes and trends of the development of international trade and international finance
Øapproach real world problems with interest, use what they have learned to discuss and explain the practical trade and finance issues and other related problems
