暨伯讲坛作为暨伯学院的标志性学术活动，第一期于9月15日圆满落下帷幕。
在第一期暨伯讲坛中，学院邀请到了陈玉森博士以及包特博士来为暨伯学子们开启讲坛的第一课。
陈玉森博士是智能交通方面的专家，主要从事绿色动态交通管理，网络交通建模与多种运输方式交通信息与决策支持系统及智慧城市的研究与应用。是荷兰国家应用科学院/TNO的资深研究员，兼职荷兰代尔伏特理工大学（TU Delft）及北京工业大学（教授）。曾担任荷兰华人经济技术发展中心（CCPN）常务副主席、秘书长，现任常务副主席。2005年作为全球三百侨领之一，被国务院邀请回国参加全球华人社团联谊会。2017年起受聘为国务院侨办专家咨询委员会委员。
包特博士本科就读于复旦大学世界经济系。2006年获复旦大学经济学学士，2007年获香港科技大学经济学硕士，2012年获阿姆斯特丹大学经济学博士。现任新加坡南洋理工大学经济学助理教授。研究兴趣为实验经济学，行为金融和房地产经济学。研究论文发表于Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control等国际期刊，和《经济研究》、《世界经济》等国内期刊。
在暨伯讲坛中，陈玉森博士以生动幽默的语言跟暨伯新生们讲述了数学在大数据时代中的应用。在演讲中，陈玉森博士用生活中息息相关的例子向新生们解释了看似晦涩难懂的数学原理。
包特博士则从经济学在现实生活中的应用入手，给暨伯新生们上了第一堂经济学的启蒙课程。

暨伯学子感言
Professor Chen, who specialized in big data and smart city, gave us an excellent presentation today.
Firstly, professor introduced the structure of smart city and the use of newer technology in transportation which he has been devoted to for many years, followed by the introduction of big data , a hot point in today's life.
During the presentation, many real features were used to show the importance of big data. For example, through the data produced by car, it is possible for drivers to know the situation of the roads, and to prevent from the traffic jam.
After the presentation, Professor Chen amicably discussed the problem of private information protection with Professor Nick Webber and students. He suggested giving up the smart phones.
In my opinion, this presentation raised my curiosity of big data. I would like to know more information about it. In other words, big data is worth exploring.
Today, we had another brilliant presentation on finance from Professor Bao.
To warm the atmosphere up, professor first invited 18 volunteers to play a trade game. Then, he explained the relationship between seller and buyer on the base of game. A flow chart about the fundamental pattern of the market was showed thereafter.
However, professor stated that the market is changeable. In other words, markets are the same. During the talk, financial not bubble was taken as an example to prove this idea.
After the speech, professor patiently answered the questions raised students. Not only the hot spot nowadays---the Bit coin, but also higher level questions like ”Will bubble be created intentionally? “were discussed.
As a student from mathematics, the presentation still cheered me up and showed me a sense of achievement that this major can deliver to me. These are interesting areas which are still waiting for us to explore.
