J-BJI TALK VII  

On Nov. 22nd morning, Prof. Yuanming Zhang, who has a bachelor and master in Sichuan University, and a doctorate in Nankai University, gave students in J-BJI an impressive presentation on “Do not let College life slip away” in the Teaching Building.

The lecture was divided into four parts: self-introduction of Prof. Zhang, the introduction of JNU, the introduction of J-BJI, and suggestions to our students.

In the self-introduction part, students know about several achievements Prof Zhang and his students have made, and are impressed by Prof. Zhang that he is not only a serious researcher but also an educator well received by his students. He then analyses different situations among different districts in China and points out the advantages JNU has for being in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Next, Prof. Zhang says that he thinks highly of J-BJI and regards the majors setting in J-BJI has significant advantages. He further points out that students in J-BJI should be proud of their language advantages as well as these major advantages. As to the suggestions to students, Prof. Zhang advises students to put great emphasis on studying and urges our students to write down their time schedules to manage their time better.

At the end of this vivid and meaningful lecture, Prof. Zhang uses his students' words to send his best wishes to our students: Hope you won’t regret when you look back time in the old days.

张渊明教授在为暨伯学子开讲

11月22号，张渊明教授给暨伯学子带来了新的一期暨伯讲坛——《莫负大学好时光》。暨伯学院李琼副院长及综合管理办公室方玲主任到场并为同学们简要介绍了张渊明教授。张渊明教授首先为同学们分享了自己个人的教育工作经验，暨伯学子们从中感受到了一位杰出教育者的风采。张教授不仅潜心学术，具有多项颇具影响力的研究成果；而且十分平易近人、怀揣着一颗年轻的心，十分乐于与学生交流接触。在讲座过程中，张渊明教授结合我国经济数据，分析了当下中国各经济体的差异以及未来的进退趋势，并且突出强调了暨南大学身处的粤港澳大湾区的各种优势，及其喜人前景。

对于暨南大学伯明翰大学联合学院，张渊明教授指出自己对暨伯学院的专业设置十分看好。并进一步点出暨伯学院学子应当引以为豪的独特优势——“语言环境氛围”与“以数学为基础的定量科学优势”。暨伯学院李琼副院长也提醒在座各位暨伯学子，应当加强自身在讲座的最后，张渊明教授结合其教学以及工作经验为在座各位暨伯学子提出了未来大学四年的建议。张教授通过比较大学学习与以往初高中的教育模式不同，提醒了同学们在大学校园中找到合适的学习方式的重要性。又通过举出过往师兄师姐的实例，让同学们深入思考自己的大学规划。张渊明教授生动有趣的讲座，无疑向暨伯学子提出一个值得思考的问题：怎样，才不会辜负大学的好时光？
