讲座简介：

英国莎士比亚研究所所长迈克尔·道布森教授将带领同学们一览莎士比亚创作剧本的经历，并走进四百多年来世界各地为莎士比亚戏剧而建造的剧院，探究其中为彰显表演而特别设计的建造细节，感受莎士比亚作品经久不衰的艺术魅力。

嘉宾简介：

英国莎士比亚研究所所长，伯明翰大学莎士比亚研究教授，牛津大学博士。出版物包括《国家诗人的塑造》(1992年)、《英格兰的伊丽莎白》(与尼古拉·沃森合著，2002年)、《今日莎士比亚悲剧表演》(2006年)、《莎士比亚和业余表演》(2011年)以及《牛津莎士比亚同伴》(与斯坦利·威尔斯合编)的连续版本。

Abstract:  

In this illustrated talk, Professor Michael Dobson considers the nature of the playhouses for which Shakespeare first wrote his scripts, and looks at some of the theatres which have been purpose-built for the performance of his plays around the world over the last four centuries.What sorts of investment in Shakespeare do these buildings make visible, and which have best substituted for the lost popular playhouses of Elizabethan London?

Biography：

Director of The Shakespeare Institute and Professor of Shakespeare Studies，University of Birmingham. Undergraduate scholarship to Oxford, 1979; undergraduate prizes, 1979-82; college lectureship, Christ Church, Oxford, 1986-7; Oxford doctorate (awarded 1990); visiting scholar, Harvard University, 1987-9; university jobs and research fellowships in the US (1987-95); professorships at the Roehampton Institute and at Birkbeck College, University of London, 1996-2011; visiting fellowship, PKU, autumn 1999; current position, 2011-.Honorary Governor, Royal Shakespeare Company; Member of Council, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.Publications include The Making of the National Poet (1992), England's Elizabeth (with Nicola Watson, 2002), Performing Shakespeare's Tragedies Today (2006), Shakespeare and Amateur Performance (2011), and successive editions of The Oxford Companion to Shakespeare (co-edited with Stanley Wells, 2001, 2005, 2015).
